Early start
Sunny begining
North Carolina has planted its highways with wild flowers which are beautiful to see, but a bit of a blur to photograph as you speed by.
We stopped for the night midway in the lovely little town of Fredricksburg Virgina.
Where we were treated to a colorful vision of prom night finery on the courthouse steps.
Then back on the road again zipping past Washington & New York.
The skies were blue for the most part. Along the highway, it was clear that we had left the green trees & flowers of the south behind & had entered the industrial landscape of the north.
A road trip like this always reminds me just how vast & varied this country really is.
I can tell how you enjoy your trip time. That photo of yellow flowers you took in the speed is special. I like it.
ReplyDeleteBe safe and enjoy, Sally. I look forward to your next post!
Very artistically presented. A wonderful way to remember the journey.
ReplyDeleteLove those prom photos. True that the north is more industrial, but also, we are very far behind with spring this year. Things are just starting to bloom. Hopefully it will "green up" while you are in Boston.
ReplyDeleteWhat a huge difference between the green south and the industrial north! So nice you got to see those beautiful prom dresses :) Can't wait to read more about your trip!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - road trips help you open up to the various elements in nature and you brought them all out. I love the clear blue skies and the morning shots in particular, I wish you a great trip, Sally. :-)
ReplyDeleteI do think NC is one of the most beautiful states. Looks like this road trip is going to be a lovely one. What a grand day for a drive!
