Bonne Fête des Mères

This Sunday is the French Mother's Day.

Today I went to the tiny Saturday market in the little village of Varen.

I bought geraniums to plant in the front.
Cherries & apricots ....
Bread & a morceau of fresh butter....
Peas & asparagus because they are in season
After planting my flowers I spent the rest of the afternoon shelling peas & washing lettuce.
I hope you had a productive Saturday.

To all of my French friends I wish you a
Bonne Fête des Mères!

  1. Glad to see that you have started new living again. Those fresh vegetables will make you more productive and me as well!!
    Enjoy your Saturday,Sally.

  2. I am simply in heaven reading this! I went to the market today too -- but I fear that while the plants I bought were lovely and the food fresh, it couldn't have been nearly the experience you enjoyed!

  3. If you like good food and interesting markets then there is surely no better country to live in than France.

  4. How terrific that you get to be celebrated as a mother twice this year. I love how you've dived into your French life. Beautiful. Happy Mother's Day to you.

  5. happy mother's day in french! ah, those fresh greens and bread looks so yummy

  6. That bread and the butter look delicious! And the cherries and asparagus look awesome, too! I'm getting hungry again now even though I just had salad for dinner :)
Have a wonderful and happy French Mother's Day! :)

  7. The photographs are beautiful!

  8. I am pretending I am coming to visit...

  9. I'm soooooo jealous......enjoy!

  10. Beautiful geraniums. Can I have a slice of that bread?
