Les Détails et La Dentelle

One of the many old buildings in St. Antonin. An older photo taken some years ago, before the lace curtains were hung by the curant owner. It's a bit fuzzy but there is a big renovation project going on across the road now so not so easy to stand back & get a good shot these days.

I guess just looking at the details will have to do. The old door now draped in lace.

The beautiful old lettering with its rich patina. A detail of the lace curtains that hang in the window now.

The old photograph that is displayed in the window, of the store in its early days. Oh what stories this building has to tell. How I would love to zoom in & see all the merchandise in the store window. To know more about the family that ran it.

Here is what you find in the window today. Just some details & some lace.

Wishing you all a happy weekend. May you find joy in the details.

  1. Maybe it is just my imagination but it seems as thought there is something about shops in France that is unmistakeably "France." You don't see American shops that look like this or the lettering is different. And I don't know why because it is so charming!

  2. Europe and I am certain France (although you forgot to pack me in the extra suitcase so I could experience it first hand), is so enchanting and rich with history and historical buildings!!! Canada is so young, especially the west, that we just don't grasp to the extent that we should, such historical treasures!!! I love the soft focus and the window shutters in your first and older image Sally! Thank you for sharing!!!!

The photo of the shuttered window is wonderful.

  5. The close ups of this single shop give an impression of the whole country which is irresistible. You've taken me back to holidays spent there years ago!
