October is the month of the grape harvest in the Gaillac wine region near where I spend my summers. I have had the pleasure of being in France at this beautiful time of year & have many fond memories.
These photographs were taken on just such a late autumn visit. However, I was happy to see some recent photos of a harvest at a small local winery here. I adore the photo of the mid-day meal, an important part of the daily harvest.
And just in case you too are thinking of the autumn grape harvest in France I am linking this with Paulita's weekly meme Dreaming of France.
Sally, I love seeing France through your pictures. Some day, I hope to take part in a harvest, or at least share a meal! Thanks for playing along with Dreaming of France.
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous photos, I can see why you wouldn't want to miss the vintage. I hope you're back for one soon.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful place. must be fun to harvest the grapes.

ReplyDeleteAh, I would love to harvest grapes in France one day soon. Those photos are dreamy:) Have a beautiful day, dear.
ReplyDeletePretty, pastoral perfection, and very similar to our wine harvest here in Crete. The sights, the scents, the simple luxury of gathering, pressing, and fermenting grapes is one of the many local activities on the island, too. So lovely to see the process through your pictures.
